He is the proud father of 2 children, Jada, Derrick, Jr. and has a wonderful daughter in love, Santana. He was reared as a child into his adulthood at Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Supt. J.J. Davis and Supt. Ivanhoe Terry. As a child he was an active member of the youth department and music ministry. He graduated from Washington Marion Magnet High School, where he won numerous awards and championships in basketball at the local, state, and national level such as Parade All American and the top 100 basketball players in the nation in 1989. Because of such great accomplishments, it allowed him to go on to receive a full paid scholarship. He graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College with an Associates of Arts Degree. He moved to University of Oklahoma for two years and then finished his bachelor’s degree of Sciences in Sociology from Grand Canyon University. Elder Gallien had the privilege of playing two years of basketball overseas in 1994, while overseas God began to speak to him concerning a higher calling. As he would say “I had no satisfaction in what I was pursuing.” He realized he had to accept what God’s will for his life would be. He then attended a summer revival at his home church when he heard the voice of God again. This time he accepted the call of God. In 1996 Elder Gallien moved his membership to Philadelphia Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Supt. Rogers Cain where he served faithfully as the Director of the Youth Department and Sunday School Superintendent. On April 4, 1997, he became a licensed Minister. After completing the C.H. Mason Bible College Elder Gallien went on, In 2008 to be consecrated and ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ via the First Jurisdiction of Louisiana by his jurisdictional prelate, Bishop Roy L.
